The hotel itself is great and staff are friendly, it has all the usual amenities and is clean and centrally located in Izuhara.
Not only is check-in time 4pm, later than the usual 3pm in Japan - which is already later than the standard everywhere else (2pm), but upon arrival was told the room would not be ready until 6pm. You are also not allowed to be in the room between 10am and 3pm as that is when they are cleaned, which can only be opted out of by talking to the front desk.

Solid but not spectacular
Nothing fantastic and honestly not as good as most Toyoko Inns I've been to, but it's still a solid place to stay with good value.
There was a bit of a sweaty smell in the room at first, perhaps from the busy cleaning staff. A couple things didn't work right, like the key card to turn on the lights. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable

You know what to expect and what you'll get with the hotels of the Toyoko Inn chain. In some way, they are quite inflexible in terms of check-in and check-out times and that you only get one pillow and one bath towel when the booking is just for one person, but the price makes up for that.
